The most lucky day in my life

The most lucky day in my life was September the 4th 1992. I've been waiting for that day all summer, and I will remember it till the end of my life. On that Friday, I went to Berlin to see Michael Jackson live in concert.  I left Szczecin at 11:30 and arrived in Berlin at 15:00. The stadium was opened at 15:15 but first of all I wanted to buy something about Michael. And all my last year's savings I spent on "Dancing the Dream" - poems and stories by Michael. And then, about 15:30, together with my new friend from the coach, a 16-year old girl from Koszalin, we entered the stadium. There were already a lot of people there. The first "sector" and a half of the second one were already filled up with people. So we started to push through the crowd. And it took us about half an hour to "walk" 10 meters and get to the barrier. In spite of 20 meter distance I was shocked I was so close to the bandstand. But that wasn't the end. Everybody wanted to stand where I stood so for the next four hours I have been fighting with the crowd. Sometimes it was very dangerous. But I could cope with everything. The thought of seeing Michael on stage kept me going. And then it happened. Michael appeared on stage about 8 o'clock p.m. But before he did, we could see the retrospection of his career on the big tele-beams. And when the atmosphere on the stadium condensed and everybody was shouting "Michael!, Michael!" - he appeared. He didn't enter the stage, he just appeared. And while he was standing motionless, the crowd was shouting, yelling and crying. And I couldn't believe my happiness. I stood there with 60 thousand people around me and started at the man I've been admiring for 6 years. I never imagined it could be possible. And yet it was. Michael performed 15 songs from his last three albums - "Thriller", "Bad" and "Dangerous". Each song was a kind of a show with magic tricks, special effects and unusual lights. But the most incredible person in the stadium was, of course, Michael. He was so close, so real. It was amazing knowing him from the video clips and watching him on the stage, listening to him at home from records, and during this live concert. I still don't believe how lucky I was. I felt like it was only a dream. The dream for which I am very grateful to my farther. Without his help I couldn't afford to go to Berlin. Now, when I listen to any of these songs from the concert it reminds me of that most lucky day in my life. And I'm sure I'll keep in my mind forever.

P.S. Since then, I've been to two more concerts - one in London and one in Warsaw, during the "HIStory" tour, so whilst I consider myself three-times-lucky, the first time was the most memorable one.
